Wires
Wires made from tungsten, tungsten-rhenium, molybdenum, or tantalum are known for its excellent heat resistance as well as for its electrical and thermal conductivity, making them an ideal choice for many high-temperature and high-voltage applications. This makes them ideal for use in a variety of applications, including electrical wiring, filaments for light bulbs, thermo-couples, and heating elements in industrial equipment. They are also used in the production of the heating elements and evaporation coils, which are used to evaporate metals in a variety of coating methods. The wires are typically made by drawing it through a series of dies, which reduces the diameter of the wire and gives it a round cross-section.
Tungsten, WRe, Mo and Ta wires can be manufactured in very thin diameters, as small as 20 micrometers, and in very long lengths up to several kilometers, depending on the application. The production process is highly automated and the wire can be produced in large quantities, making it a cost-effective solution for many industrial applications.
