Rods
Rods made from Tungsten, Molybdenum and their alloys are known for their high melting point, stiffness, and tensile strength. They are often used in applications where these properties are important, such as in the manufacture of light bulb filaments, X-ray tubes, balance weight and supporting shaft for the high-speed cutting tools. Tungsten rods are also widely used in welding like TIG welding and spot welding, as they can withstand high temperatures and produce strong, reliable welds. Moreover, they are also resistant to wear and corrosion, making them ideal for use in high-stress environments. These rods are typically made through a sintering process, in which tungsten powder is compacted under high pressure and then heated to form a solid rod. The sintering process is followed by swaging or rolling to produce fully dense material.
