Tungsten heavy metal is a family of tungsten-based materials with very high density and good mechanical properties. The combination of the element tungsten and selected additional elements such as nickel, iron, copper and molybdenum result in unique properties for various industrial and military applications. This material is manufactured using powder metallurgy by pressing and sintering the corresponding metal powder components. The range of physical and mechanical properties of tungsten heavy metals, such as density, strength, ductility and magnetic properties offers a wide range to meet numerous engineering requirements.
